Dark sunrise Black crow flies Dreams cloud my eyes Here I’m blind Stand on my own Find a way back home We’ll carry on somehow Light on your face Here in this place Show me how Our chance is now Things we said when we met So much hadn’t happened yet I know what I thought I’d forget somehow Take my hand I understand Footsteps left behind More we’ll find Stand on our own Find our way back home See what comes and carry on somehow

Waiting Song 04:15
Some things just seem to take forever Like a package in the mail. I sit staring out my window At a sky that’s grey and pale. I can’t wait here any longer The time is late - so are you. Now the sun comes to its senses I’ve got so much left to do. Gotta try to get my face on straight Gotta figure out the day. I can see I’ve got no time to waste As the morning flies away. Things take longer than I think they should Things take longer than I thought they would A thing worth having is worth waiting for A thing worth having is worth waiting for

Well you can try to win the game Or find someone to blame In the end we’re all the same You can tell yourself a lie, Or you can sit right down and cry Can see your beauty in my eyes? That’s the way it goes – everybody knows And it’s okay It’s gonna be okay Someone said you can win the world – all the silver and the gold – but find a way to hang on to your soul. You can tell yourself a lie Or you can sit right down and cry Someday you’ll see your beauty through my eyes That’s the way it is Everybody says We’re all the same We’re all the same Someone said you can win the world – all the silver and the gold – remember to hang on to your soul You can tell yourself a lie Or you can sit right down and cry Can you see your beauty in my eyes? That’s the way it is Everybody says We’re all the same We’re all the same Hang on, it’s gonna be okay I know you, it’s gonna be okay

Third Street 04:01
The city streets are empty, The crowds have come and gone And it’s quiet, cold and still The rain falls slow and steady The sidewalk’s dark and cold under streetlights while I walk A silent saxophone, a frozen metronome In the window of a pawn shop The melancholy whores outside the liquor store And an old man in a raincoat The Jade Café is closed now The empty tables wait at the window in the dark. The rain falls slow and softly The sidewalk’s damp and cold in the moonlight while I walk. Forgotten photograph, unfinished paragraph, And a question I won’t ask A certain melody keeps coming back to me under streetlights while I walk

Saturday afternoon is a party girl walking downtown Hair up high and her dress too tight. It’s hot but she doesn’t care. Go ahead and look. Little kids down on the corner are playing hopscotch and Double Dutch on the sidewalk. Rafael skinned his knee, but he won’t cry. He wants to stay outside. Big brothers comb their hair forever and try to look tough in the bathroom. This time for sure. Nobody pays attention to the news on Saturdays except Mr. Gillespie down the block. You know how he is. I can hear his tea kettle going on and on and on and on and on. Betty is breading up plenty of butter fish in the kitchen down at the Mile High Club. You know how these college kids get when they come in here after a couple of beers. “Don’t you slam that door on me! I’m talking to you!” There they go again - that young couple in Number 9. Then they come out holding hands and looking shy. I hear Francine is expecting a baby come November, but she hasn’t said so to me. My mama says it’s a shame - she’s such a pretty little thing. The sun goes down late in the summer months and that suits me right down to the ground. Papa says the grill is hot - “Come and get it!” Saturday afternoon.

Liberty 04:10
Occurance Innocence Reticence Ignorance Sustenance Arrogance Consequence Convulsion Revulsion Revision Resolution Creation Seedling Slipstream Sapling Smoking Ashes Compassion Pick up the book - Inhale the words Release the catch - Uncage the birds Now stand in space - Now wave your arms Amazing grace - and safe from harm I realize, I sympathize, I understand And Open hands Charity begins in the beginning – Destiny a trick of the mind Ecstasy is blowing out the candles - Legacy is something left behind Harmony is filtered through the curtains - Honesty a fluctuating thing Liberty is a bird outside the window. Liberty, liberty…

I’ll meet you down the road we’ll walk along the shore a place where we can be alone My favorite part is the way you talk My favorite part - the way you look All this is marvelous All this is magic All this is rapturous All this is music All this is marvelous All this is magic All this is rapturous We’ll find a place in the park Where they have a band they play those songs the ones we love My favorite part is just the way you laugh My favorite part is the way you look at me At night we’ll take a ride anywhere Just to spread our wings Just to get some air My favorite part is the way you laugh My favorite part – the way you look, look at me

You’re standing in the water. You know there’s so much more. And it’s better late than never, and it’s never been like this before. You’re standing in a moving stream clear sky overhead. Take your time but let’s be honest you see the sun is red. Breathe in and then breathe out, following a thread. Eyes wide and hand on heart remember what’s been said. You’re standing at the crossroads not sure which way to go. Scan the stars for some direction, time to trust in what you know. Breathe in and then breathe out, following a thread. Eyes wide and hand on heart remember what’s been said. You’re standing in the water. The river takes its time. But you feel there’s just this moment for you to make up your mind. It’s just a day and it’s everything, and somehow, it’s alright. Raise your eyes and look around. Lift your arms, take flight.

Without You 02:36
Without you, I’d redecorate Without you, I could concentrate Without you, I would stay up late Maybe I’d even meditate. If you go without a trace I’d be sad, I’d miss your face I’d have room and lots of space But I could go any place Without you If you leave I’d be on my own, Lie in bed sleeping all alone I’d stay up talking on the phone Without you, Without you. If you left I’d send the laundry out I’d turn up all my favorite songs What’s the use without you around? Without you. Without you.
